While waiting to hear from the Council regarding our complaint against Viktor Orban, our Founder, Professor Alberto Alemanno, has wrote a piece providing an analysis of what can still be done to stop the Hungarian Presidency.
It argues that the the Council and the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy are under a legal obligation to do more than adopting a warning against the Hungarian Presidency or boycotting some its over 300 meetings scheduled. Failing to do so will not only discredit the Union on both the internal and international stage but also weaken the Union’s commitment to the rule of law.
